| Madonna | Erotica (orig.) | 1992 | PC | SIRE | W0138TP | Vinyl | 12" pic | UK | picture disc / double-sided cardboard back insert | YES ITHIS IS THE REAL DEAL! I OWN THE ORIGINAL NOT A FAKE! the median price in discogs of €46.57 is a joke - therefore I’ve listed the high price (hard cardboard gold colored back insert no paper - ORLAKE in the run-out groove etched into the vinyl - cat# on the vinyl printed on white rectangular box/background etc.). The only fact I am in doubt ist the number of existing copies („138 worldwide“) - I guess there are some more around. But anyway - most of the ones offered are fakes. HOW TO TELL A GENUINE "EROTICA" PICTURE DISC FROM A FAKE taken from the RECORD COLLECTOR article by James R. Blandford In October 1992 WEA produced perhaps the most desirable Madonna rarity of all time - the "Erotica" 12" picture disc (catalog number W0138TP). The first single from her much-anticipated "Erotica" album its release heightened the commotion surrounding her controversial book SEX and the steamy film Body of Evidence. According to WEA 50 000 copies of the picture disc - which featured Maddy sucking someone‘s big toe - were pressed only to be immediately recalled because of tabloid photographs of Sarah Ferguson HRH The Duchess of York were published in various tabloids. The pictures featured "Fergie" giving her financial advisor John Byron a "toe job." WEA were concerned that they might be seen to be cashing in on the scandal; so to prevent any embarrassment to the Royal Family WEA had all remaining copies of the picture disc destroyed. A press statement was apparently released confirming that 138 copies of the picture disc were unaccounted for. That is the official story yet it seems more than a slight coincidence that the number of copies leaked - 138 - was the same number as the catalog number (W0138TP). WEA now claims the picture disc was only ever planned as a promo but this seems unlikely when you consider the catalog number which is the same as those used on commercial releases. Surely if the disc was a promo it would have carried the infamous "promo only" jargon and have a SAM number. Could it be that only 138 copies were actually pressed? This would certainly fit with the hype surrounding Madonna‘s erotic output. Needless to say collectors went crazy and the disc ∆ which came with a double-sided card insert ∆ began to sell for upwards of $650.00. More recently it has sold for as much as $7100.00 (posike.com no originals ever sold on discogs.com). | Discogs | 2281,40 | 175 | 970 | 5,5 | ||

| Prince | 51 hours (with Diamond and Pearl) | 1992 | RF | NPG | (no #) | Vinyl | 12" | USA | Original Issue | approx. 20-30 made worldwide!!!!!!! Still sealed! This withdrawn Paisley Park in-house in one of the rarest records with a release of only 20 copies ever made. 51 Hours is an unreleased track recorded in mid-April 1992 by Diamond and Pearl at Platinum Studios Melbourne Australia. The music for the track was written and recorded by Australian techno producer Mark Forrester. Prince heard the track while working in the studio and added to the track by having his background dancers Diamond and Pearl add a rap. Carmen Electra is also believed to appear on the track's vocals. Prince appears only briefly on vocals. The track was played on a Spanish radio station during the Summer of 1992 and was said to be due for release after the Diamond And Pearls Tour. Prince had around 20 copies of an in-house 12" vinyl pressed containing a longer version of the track but the copies were not officially distributed and both the single and the track remain unreleased. | Discogs | 931,51 | 40 | 179 | 4,5 | ||
